Franklin's transition from corporate law to arbitration was marked by a brief internship at Kim & Chang in South Korea. His commitment to the judiciary led him to serve as a Judicial Assistant at the Court of Final Appeal and later as a Judicial Associate at the Court of Appeal.

In 2022, Franklin's exceptional work was recognized when he won the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) HK45 essay competition.
