Kevin Lee

Kevin Lee is a Korean-born British lawyer and academic who is a National Legal Advisor to the President of South Korea at the National Unification Advisory Council (NUAC), an Adjunct Lecturer at the Korea University School of Law, and a Barrister and Arbitrator at Prince's Chambers.

Kevin read law at Grey College, Durham University (UK), and is a native English and Korean speaker. Prior to joining the Bar, he was at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton (Hong Kong) for three years, where he specialised in capital market transactions and global mergers and acquisitions.

Kevin's practice covers all aspects of commercial litigation and international arbitration. He has particular experience of advising on, and acting in, disputes involving banking and financial services, company law, competition law, public law, shipping and international trade, insurance and reinsurance, securities regulatory, and conflicts of law. Kevin regularly acts on behalf of Hong Kong and Korea listed companies and is frequently engaged in both domestic and international arbitrations.

Kevin is a member of the Companies Law Committee and the Competition Law Committee of the Hong Kong Bar Association. In 2019, he was engaged as an independent consultant to the Hong Kong Competition Commission. Kevin also previously served clerkships at Kim & Chang (Seoul, 2008), the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office (Seoul, 2008) and the LA District Attorney’s Office (Los Angeles, 2007).

In 2019, Kevin was appointed by the President of South Korea as a National Legal Advisor to the National Unification Advisory Council (NUAC) to advise the Korean Government on international law and foreign policy in its ongoing effort to achieve peaceful unification with North Korea.
