Introduction and Regulation of Virtual Banks in Hong Kong
Introduction and Regulation of Virtual Banks in Hong Kong
Course Description
Since the first virtual bank launched in 2019, there are more virtual banks in Hong Kong. In this CPD course, we would discuss the regulation of virtual banking in Hong Kong, the use of technologies for a virtual bank’s day-to-day operations, regulatory compliance and risk management processes, the challenges of virtual banking in Hong Kong and law and regulation coping with fast changing technologies. As Banking Ordinance is closely connected with virtual banking in Hong Kong, we would also discuss the Banking Ordinance. We would explore the regulatory policies, some recent amendments of Banking Ordinance, some recent cases on Banking Litigation and how those things affect virtual banks. Towards the end of the webinar, we would discuss Banking Ordinance and the international regulations related to banking in other jurisdictions and how they apply to virtual banks.
