Kerby graduated with First Class Honours from the University of Oxford, where he also obtained his BCL degree. At Oxford, he was awarded prizes for best performance in both trusts law and company law. He was also awarded the Hong Kong Bar Scholarship in 2012.

His civil and commercial practice has a particular emphasis on Chancery matters, especially probate, trust and company law.

Kerby is recommended in Doyle’s Guide 2020 list of Leading Estates and Probate Litigation Barristers in Hong Kong. He has also authored and contributed to numerous books and articles, including Atkin’s Court Forms Hong Kong (Chapter on Probate) and LexisNexis HK Practical Guidance (Chapter on Cross-border estates).
