Zhisong Dai understands that the future of China’s international and internal business is affected by the quality and application of its compliance regulations. As Group Ethics and Compliance Director, he operates with the highest professional standards, while influencing the wider Legal and Compliance space.

He started his career developing internal controls to ensure the appropriate use of foreign Government funds. This enlightened him on the importance of compliance. Subsequently, he investigated SEC of the U.S inquiries about fraudulent financial statements by shareholders.

Zhisong enjoyed detecting the ‘hidden meaning’ of numbers and added legal knowledge and other expertise to his forensic accounting skills. Along with two Master of Law, his impressive qualification list includes certifications in E-discovery, anti-money laundering, fraud examination and global sanctions specialism.

“Think Big, Do Big” is key to his thinking as Zhisong knows China faces entrenched corruption practices in parts of the APAC region. Personally, he shares his knowledge to prosper others, and mentors young legal professionals.

He sits on influential committees including one helping US firms to interpret Chinese anti-corruption legislation and localise their compliance systems.

Additionally, he’s helping develop ISO 37008, the first international compliance management systems standard.
